The Chat page allows you to send and receive basic text messages with other agents that support chat, including wallets. The messages are sent over DIDComm connections listed in the Contacts page, and you select one of those connections in the Chat to send and view those messages.

Outgoing messages are sent either directly to the recipient agent or via a mediator and are end-to-end encrypted.

Messages from others are also encrypted, and are received via the mediator configured in your wallet at time you created the contact. Messages are picked up at a fixed interval of approximately 10 seconds, so there may be a delay in receiving messages.
